Shimla: Health and Family Welfare Minister Kaul Singh Thakur revealed the State Government was considering constructing Red Cross Bhawan and blood Separation Unit in each district of the State.
In Himachal Pradesh Red Cross Management Society meeting today, Kaul Singh Thakur, who is also the Chairman of State Red Cross Management Society, directed all the Deputy Commissioners to identify suitable land for the construction of Red Cross Bhawan in their concerned district.
Minister lauded the role of the Society in helping poor and needy persons and advised to hold regular meetings at-least once in year.
Thakur said that State Government would consider taking the services of those employees who were giving their services to the Society from last eight years to Health Department against vacant posts. Thereafter they would be brought under Rogi Kalyan Samitis and would be considered for regularization after converting them on contract basis.
He directed to appoint Chief Medical Officer as Secretary and Assistant Commissioner as Treasurer of the District Red Cross Society. He also directed to revive lifetime membership campaign of Red Cross at State level.
Health Minister directed the health department to ensure Rs. five lakh every year for administrative expenditure of Red Cross.
It was decided in meeting to include Uma Baldi, Sonia Chauhan and Jogesh Kaur in the Executive Committee of State Red Cross.
Sanjay Gupta, Principal Secretary to Governor and General Secretary, State Red Cross Society, Deputy Commissioners of various districts, non official members of the society and officers of various departments attended the meeting.
