In a recently concluded challenge250 cycling race on Asia’s first Bicycle Highway from Etawah to Agra, a young engineering professor from Himachal Pradesh secured eighth place.
Er. Nishant Pathak, Assistant Professor at Bahra University Shimla, completed 250km long race in 06:40:16. The two days race competition was organized on 26th and 27th November, and professional cyclists of International fame compete in the event.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also participated in the race and successfully paddle for 250km. After successful completion of the race Yadav congratulated the participants.
The inaugural ride on concrete made three-meter wide Agra-Etawah Cycle Highway was organised by the Uttar Pradesh government with Cycleit as the race partners. There were two category ‘Race (Competitive) and Endurance (Non-Competitive)’.
Challenge 250 was first of its kind event on a cycling path in beautiful countryside of Uttar Pradesh. Path passes through beautiful countryside, fields and is along the cannels.
Pathak, speaking to TheNewsHimachal, hailed Uttar Pradesh Government and its Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for developing first dedicated Bicycle Highway and organizing a race. He believed that challenge250 cycling race will prove a milestone in promoting Cycling among the youngsters.
