Rohru: Two women died when a Bolero jeep HP02A-0876 fell down into Pabbar River near Patsari at Hatkoti in Jubbal Tehsil of Shimla district.
Deceased identified as Kanta and Bimla Devi were died on the spot while other nine sustained injuries and rushed to the nearby Rohru hospital.
The cause of the accident is not known yet, but dilapidated condition of the road, dirt and mud cannot be ruled out.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Rohit Thakur has expressed grief over the accident. He directed the SDM Rohru to provide immediate relief to the next of the kins of the deceased and injured.
The condition of the road from Rohru to Theog, via Jubbal-Kotkhai is known to all and every year numerous accidents were taking many precious lives. The State Government, though, claiming to repair it within year, but its deteriorating condition especially during monsoon season, proving difficult to the daily commuters and local residents.
