Majheoti/Rampur: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said the pace of developmental works had been speeded up in the State and he had been extensively visiting the different areas of the State to personally inspect the ongoing developmental works and interact with the people to know and redress their grievances. The emphasis had been laid on resolving public grievances on the spot to avoid unnecessary delays and harassment to the people.
Chief Minister was addressing a public gathering at Majheoti in Rampur assembly constituency of Shimla district on Monday evening after inaugurating Senior Secondary School building, Majheothi which had been constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.40 crore.
He said that ancient Ganesha temple of Majheothi would be renovated by maintaining its traditional architecture. He added that all the temples located in various parts of the State were part of our rich cultural heritage and government would make special provision in the budget to carry out their renovation.
Chief Minister announced Rs. 50,000 to the students of the Majeothi school to promote cultural activities.
Virbhadra Singh later inaugurated the cultural evening of the Lavi fair at Rampur Bushahr. He appealed the people to preserve rich traditions and culture of the State which were integral part of our lives.
Deputy Commissioner Dinsesh Malhotra honoured the Chief Minister by presenting Himachali shawl and cap.
Pratibha Singh, Member of Parliament said that State government had given added priority to the education sector and it was during the Congress regime that a vast network of primary and middle schools was established in the State to facilitate the students in getting education nearer to their home. The girls were being given facility of free education and government had started an innovative skill development scheme for the educated youth of the State. She said that various developmental demands of the people of the Rampur constituency would be taken up effectively with the State and Center governments.
