The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet in its meeting has given consent for issuance of Letter of Intent to the applicants for grant of mining leases/renewal of mining lease, for mining projects below five hectare enabling them to apply for Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) clearance and completing other formalities.
Cabinet also decided that the State Government would take up the matter with the Government of India for giving power to grant Environment Impact Assessment clearance to the State Government for project below five hectares. He said that this would help in early clearances of EIA.
