Sudden showers and thunderstorm helped to sharp decline the temperatures of Shimla city and various parts of Himachal Pradesh. Temperature of the Shimla was dropped by six and come down to 22 deg C.

Earlier in the day, mercury had touched 28.4 deg C mark, even as the sky was partially overcast, but the temperature plummeted after sudden rains and storm.

Una remained hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 40.8 deg C against 43.4 deg C yesterday. Bhuntar city and Dharamshala recorded a low of 37.5 deg C, followed by Sundernagar 36.9 deg C, Nahan 34.8 deg C, Solan 34.0 deg C and Kalpa 27.2 deg C.

Kumarsen received good amount of rainfall as in the region 30 mm of rains recorded while Baijnath recorded 26 mm rains followed by Jogindernagar 15 mm, Palampur 13.5 mm, Dalhousie 13 mm, Sundernagar 12.5 mm, Mandi 11 mm, Pandoh 9 mm, Nadaun 7 mm and Kufri 6 mm.

The local MeT office has predicted rains or thunderstorm at isolated places during next 24 hours with marginal fall in mercury.
