Senior Congress leader and Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee newly appointed president Virbhadra Singh on Friday withdraw his plea filed in the high court seeking quashing of FIR into the CD case against him or a CBI probe into the matter.
A division bench of Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice D.C. Chaudhary accepted the plea of Virbhadra Singh and treated the petition as “dismissed as withdrawn” after the Congress leader and his wife said they were ready to face trial. The court asked Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh to appear on September 7 in the Court of Special Judge BL Soni.
