A proposed hydroelectric project at Renuka in Sirmaur district which also aims to provide drinking water to Delhi received a setback as Himachal Pradesh Government raising objections to the plan citing environmental concerns.

The project developers must satisfy the local people and no projects should be taken up where local people and stakeholders are opposed to it
