Shimla-based firm ran racket, Airtel in dock for ‘failing to monitor its value added service’.

In this connection, the Noida Cyber Cell has arrested four persons for allegedly violating Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) guidelines by running a phone sex service. Police have named Airtel in the FIR because the company allegedly failed to monitor the ‘value added service’ that it outsourced to a Shimla-based firm, Altruist, which ran the phone sex racket.

Police said they arrested Ashutosh Gupta, the general manager of Altruist; call centre executives Rakesh and Mukesh, who are residents of Noida; and one of the women who used to speak to the company’s clients.
