Himachal Pradesh is considered as a one of the best State in India to live. People of the State are known for their friendly and calm nature. However, there is some disturbing stuff as RTI activist Dev Ashish Bhattacharya received information that suggests that State has 737 proclaimed offenders. Even 279 offenders are dodging State Police from last five years.
Una topped the chart as it has 159 proclaimed offenders. Kangra, the largest district of the state, had 155 proclaimed offenders followed by Solan (118), Mandi (88), Sirmaur (47), Hamirpur (37), Chamba (36), Kullu and Bilaspur (34 each). The two tribal districts, Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur, had the lowest number of POs of (17) and (12), respectively.
This data do not include Shimla and Baddi district as police has failed to provide it to the activist.
