Dharam Chand Chaudhary has been appointed as the additional judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Chaudhary, who is currently the registrar general of the High Court, is likely to take oath on January 21, court sources.
Dharam Chand Chaudhary was born in March 1958 in Mandi district; He studied law from Himachal University, and started practice in the High Court in 1983. He joined the HP Higher Judicial Services in 1995 and served as the Additional District and Sessions Judge at Shimla, Mandi, Kullu and Lahaul and Spiti at Kullu. He also served as the District and Sessions Judge at Hamirpur and Kullu. He was appointed Registrar General-cum-Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice in the High Court in October 2010.
