In a tragic paragliding accident, a tourist died on the spot when he, along with operator of the glider, was paragliding down near Khajjiar and operator failed to control it and it tilted into a nearby nullah. However, the operator had a miraculous escape.
SP Kuldeep Sharma said the deceased had been identified as Manvinder (41) of Amritsar and he was here with his family. Deceased body was being bought to the Regional Hospital, Chamba, for postmortem. Police has registered case against owner of the glider as paragliding is not allowed in the forest area around Khajjiar as it falls in wildlife sanctuary.
