Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s son Vikramaditya Singh has jumped into the organizational election and filed his nomination for the state Indian Youth Congress (IYC) elections.
Elections are scheduled for November 15 and 16, where 11,835 delegates will choose their leader. The result of the state will be declared on 19th November, whereas counting of parliamentary and assembly will be done on 18th Nov and result will be declared thereafter.
As per report, there are 42 contestants vying for the top post and about 700 other candidate contesting election for the various post of parliamentary and assemblies in the election of youth Congress.
This is second time when Youth Congress delegates will choose its leader democratically. In the earlier edition Vikramaditya Singh had won the election with thumping margin, but the Foundation for Advanced Management of Elections (FAME), an independent agency commissioned by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to oversee the IYC polls, had declared his Nov 2011 election to the IYC null and void in January last year as there were complaints of violation of the code of conduct.
Vikramaditya had shown his displeasure and termed it unfortunate, however, youth congress hold fresh election on 19th April 2011, in which Monika Bharti got elected.
