Shimla: Vikramaditya Singh, son of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, has been elected as new president of State Youth Congress. He won this election with record 5182 votes. Out of 10778 valid votes, Singh got overwhelming 5514 and his nearest competitor Shekhar Sethi got only 332 votes. 140 votes considered invalid.

Goldy Chaudhary, who had fought re-election of state youth congress earlier in 2011 against Monika Bharti come third with 304 votes, Ajay Singh got 288 votes, whereas youth congress leader from Anni assembly segment Gobind Sharma got 254 votes.

Overwhelmed with the result, Vikramaditya Singh termed the victory of the youth of the state and promised to work harder and dedicatedly to live up to their expectations. He thanked all youth congress delegate, for his victory, and congratulated each candidate for being elected to various Committees. He assured to work together to strengthen the organization and implement the plans and programmes of India National Congress.
