APG Shimla University, awarded by Assocham (Highest body of the Chambers of Commerce of India, providing a forum for dialogue between business and government) as “The Best Private Upcoming University in the Hills”- announced 80% scholarship to the student who scored highest marks in Engineering and Professional course exams. These students are Shilpa of Govt Sr. Sec School Bagli, Dharamshala, Ruchi Sharma of DAV Public School Ghumarwin, Bilaspur and Payal Chauhan of St. Bedes Colleges Shimla.
Dr. Devender Pathak, Vice Chancellor of APG Shimla University congratulated the Principals and teachers of the schools who prepared their students to exhibit their academic brilliance.
In APG Shimla University’s Award function at its Shimla campus, where Vidya Stokes, Minister for Irrigation and Public Health, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh was the chief guest, Dr. Pathak informed that the University has the distinction of being the solitary private University and it aims to churn out a ‘brigade of change leaders through latest pedagogy and industry corroborated teaching. He revealed that the University had conducted “Scholarship Test” in over 300 Senior Secondary Schools in 11 districts of Himachal Pradesh, where some 25,000 aspiring student who wish to pursue Engineering and other professional courses after +2 appeared.
The University has announced 10% scholarship to all the students who sat for the exam, 20% to the school toppers and 40% to students scoring highest marks in the district level. The University awarded lap-tops with medals and certificates of merit to all the students who scored highest marks in their respective districts. Vidya Stokes handed over the lap-tops and medals to the meritorious students.
Veteran politician Stokes lauded the efforts of the University in conducting such tests helping the students of Himachal Pradesh to compete in Engineering and other courses of higher education.
Apart from providing competitive education programmes to its student, APG Shimla University has always been a step ahead in promoting education in the state. University is providing “Summer Internship” for 6 to 8 weeks to its management students. University authority claimed that its 50 management students has got placement under “Summer Internship” for six week that is beginning from 1st week of June, 2013. Some of its students are getting stipend for its services as intern.
