The team of officers led by Chief Secretary S. Roy, to the Government of Himachal Pradesh held discussions with Lyudmila V. Shaposhnikova 1st Vice-President of the International Centre of Roerichs and Director-General of Museum named after Nicholas K. Roerich, the Honored Art Worker of Russia at Moscow today and finalized the Agreement of Co-operation that will be signed on 2nd October, 2012. Both sides discussed the road map for future collaboration between Government of Himachal Pradesh, International Roerich Memorial Centre, Naggar, Kullu and ICR Moscow.
S. Roy said that co-operation between the Russian and Indian sides would lead to a meaningful partnership that would strengthen the cause of world peace that was so dear to the Roerichs.
From the Indian side Manisha Nanda, Principal Secretary LAC-cum- General Secretary, IRMT and Rakesh Kanwar, Director, Art, Language and Culture were present in the discussions while from Russian side, Prof. Alexey V. Postnikov, President of the International Centre of Roerichs, Academician of International Academy of History of Science (Paris), an Honoured Scientist of Russia, as well as Alexander V. Stetsenko, the First Deputy Director General of the Museum named after Nicholas Roerich were present.
Both sides expressed keen desire to collaborate to realize the vision of the Roerichs and expressed hope that Uruswati Himalayan Research Institute would be revived soon. Team also visited Roerich Memorial Museum, the Library, Archives, Publication Centre and the Scientific Centre earlier in the day and appreciated the work being done by the ICR, Moscow.
