Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh dedicated the first Women Police Station of the State to the people at New Shimla today. Speaking on the occasion he said that it was another feather added to the cap of the State Police department and congratulated the department for their initiative of opening the first women police station of the State.
Virbhadra Singh said that similar police stations would be set up in the State in a phased manner.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government considers women as equal to men in all fields and does not believe in gender disparity. He said that the women of the State were more educated and awakened.
He said that the New Shimla had fast developed in a modern township and urged the people to maintain the parks and ideal spaces and keep the surroundings neat and clean.
He assured that adequate funds would be provided undertaking necessary works and also assured for providing a vehicle for the newly opened police post.
Himachal Pradesh Police employees also contributed Rs 1.60 lakh towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund and presented cheque on the occasion.
Satwant Atwal, IG crime proposed vote of thanks and thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating the police post to the people of the town. She also thanked the other Ministers present on the occasion.
