Shimla: To prepare under privileged students with professional knowledge, values, and skills for generalist social work practice, Kusha Pandit, Professor at APG Shimla University, has constituted a Aashayein Educational Club (AEC), that is helping under privileged students in and around of Shimla.
The AEC was founded on April 8, 2013 and the APG Shimla University students Akhil Guleria, Prakash Bashyal, Rajesh Dulal, Stuti Pandit, Shivanshu, Roshan, Deepak, Karan, Ayushi, Sanjay and Suraj are also assisting Pandit in this noble cause.
Speaking about the AEC, Kusha Pandit, Professor at APG Shimla University said
“Aashayein Educational Club seeks to prepare students with professional knowledge, values, and skills for generalist social work practice by creating an environment that offers value oriented learning that emphasizes self assessment, service to community, self determination, social justice and respect for diversity”
The main objectives of AEC is to help the needy persons to maintain the minimum standard of life by providing various services such as voluntary training to strengthen their abilities to be self dependent in the near future.
AEC Members provide direct services to promote social and economic justice by providing the students with things they don’t have for their studies. Club also gives career guidance to students and helps the students by conducting workshops and seminars.
