Shimla: Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri and Vice Chairman, Himachal Forest Development Corporation Kewal Singh Pathania called on Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today, and apprised him about the threat posed by robbers and other anti-social elements to the shepherds who are involved in robbing them of their sheep and goats during their movement from one place to another particularly in Mangla, Khera, Indora, Chhatari and other areas of Chamba and Kangra districts besides other districts. They informed Chief Minister that they have received many complaints from the community regarding incidences of theft.
They urged the Chief Minister to direct the Police authorities to provide protection to this community as livestock was their main avocation.
Chief Minister directed the Director General of Police to take appropriate measures to check this menace. He also directed to initiate an inquiry in this regard.
