Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri said that joinery industry would be restarted before 31st March this year at Baijnath to benefit the people. He said that Tin factory would also be established at Damtal during the current financial year for providing the packaging facility for raw resin. This will also help in cutting down the expenditure being occurred on purchase of tin.

Forest Minister was addressing the employees of the State Forest Corporation in a function organised by them to honour him, here today.

Bharmouri said that State Government would ensure scientific exploitation of the rich natural resources of the State. He directed the management of the Corporation to explore the possibilities of setting up of mineral water industry in Chamba and Bharmour and added that this would also ensure employment to the local people.

Forest Minister assured that the matter of Dearness Allowance and Grade Pay of the employees of the Corporation would be taken up during the next meeting of the Board of Directors. He also assured that the process to fill up the vacant posts in the Corporation would be started soon.

He said that the next meeting of Board of Directors would be organised at Nurpur and in future such meetings would be held at different places of the State. He said that wood sale depots of the Corporation would be set up at Chamba, Bharmour and Pangi and survey will be conducted to open these depots at other parts of the State.

Gobind Chatranta, President, H.P. Forest Development Corporation Employees Federation welcomed the Minister. J.S. Walia, Managing Director, H.P. State Forest Corporation and other senior officers and employees were present on the occasion.
