The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has sanctioned Rs. 2.43 crore for Himachal Pradesh under the scheme ‘Hunar Se Rojgar Tak’. This would be used for imparting training in driving skills to 3900 youth of the State.
Director, Tourism Subhashish Panda said while reviewing the progress being made in implementation of various tourist facilities in the State. He directed all the officers to complete various tourism projects well in time and asked them to ensure better coordination with all the stakeholders.
Panda said that the State Government would soon submit various proposals to the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for sanctioning funds under various schemes so that tourist circuits and destinations along with required facilities could be developed in the State. He said that thrust would be given to explore new and untouched tourist destinations in the State.
He said that efforts should be made to promote Himachal Pradesh as prime tourist destination at National and International levels. Progress being made under the Asian Development Bank funded Infrastructure Development Investment Programme for Tourism (IDIPT) project was also reviewed in the meeting. Project consultants and Deputy Directors were present in the meeting.
