In a gruesome incident, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 20-year-old youth in her house at Chooti Halid village in the Kanga town. Kangra Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dinesh K Sharma said that the minor girl was alone at home and her father had gone to the market when her neighbour Amit Kumar came and allegedly raped her. When her father Madan Lal returned, she narrated her tale of woe.
Madan Lal lodged a complaint with the Kangra police and a case under Sections 376 and 452, IPC, was registered and the accused Amit Kumar was arrested. The girl was medically examined at the Civil Hospital and the final medical examination report was yet to be received.
