The third ally Himachal Lok Morcha (HLM), CPI has announced to fight assembly election on 16 Assembly seats. CPI decided it at a two-day meeting of its state council at Mandi, now it will be upto its other partner CPM and Himachal Lokhit party to take final call.
CPI state secretariat member and former CPI secretary Des Raj said the party had constituted a nine-member committee that would take up the issues of allotment of ticket, its drafts and manifesto with the third front partner. CPI has also passed a 20-point programme on which the party agrees with its alliance partner at the meeting.
HLM other ally, CPM has announced to field its candidate on 22 seats and if CPI gets its way then it will leave 30 major seats for the newly formed Himachal Lokhit party.
