State Election Commission today notified the election programme for the conduct of elections of all three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions of Udaipur and Keylong Sub Division of Lahaul & Spiti district, Pangi Sub Division of Chamba district and for Zila Parishad constituencies of Sub Division Spiti of Lahaul & Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
Nomination papers would be presented on 24th, 25th and 26th May, 2011 (Between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm) Nomination papers for the offices of Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad shall be filed at the places and before the officers appointed by the District Election Officers( Panchayat)
The nomination papers will scrutinize on 27th May, 2011 (From 10:00 am onwards), A candidate can withdraw his candidature on 30th May, 2011 (Before 3:00 pm), List of contesting candidates showing the name of symbol allotted to them shall be prepared and affixed on 30th May, 2011 immediately after the time of withdrawal is over. The List of polling stations will be published on or before 24th May, 2011.
The poll, if necessary would be held from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on 10th June, 2011 in first phase and on 12th June, 2011 in second phase.
Counting of votes, in the event of poll, for Member, Up-Pradhan and Pradhan of Gram Panchayats shall be taken up on the date of Poll immediately after the close of the poll at the Gram panchayat Headquarters. Counting of votes for Member of Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad shall be taken up on 14th June, 2011 at 8.30 am at respective Block Headquarters. The counting once started shall continue until it is completed.
The result of the election of Member, Up-Pradhan and Pradhan of Gram Panchayat shall be declared on the date of the poll immediately after the counting is over. The result of election of Panchayat Samiti shall be declared on the day of counting at the Block Headquarters immediately after the counting process is over. The result of election to Zila Parishad shall be declared in accordance with the provisions contained in rule 75(VI) of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Election) Rules, 1994.
Model Code of Conduct shall come into force in Lahaul & Spiti district and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh from today till the election process is completed. The process of election would be completed by 17th June, 2011.
