The Registering and Licensing Authority office of Chamba has taken a lead in introducing the SMS for the speedy disposal of high-security registration plates (HSRPs) to owners of motor vehicles.
SDM Rohit Rathour said the details of owners of motor vehicles had been fed into the computer and accordingly the intimation about obtaining number plates was being given to them by sending SMSes on their mobile phones.
The SDM said the SMS mode had been started so that owners could get their number plates within a day. The SMS is: “I am glad to inform you that the high-security registration plates of your vehicle are ready. Please affix the number plate in the office of Regional Transport Officer, Chamba.”
Authority believes that these high-security number plates will help in ensuring security and uniformity as when the vehicles stolen; sensor attached in these number plates will help to detect the vehicle.
