Refuting allegations of Ajai Srivastava, Chairman Umang Foundation, regarding lack of basic amenities and violation of human rights of the inmates of the Nari Seva Sadan, Mashobra in Shimla district, State Government’s spokesperson claimed of deploying adequate staff to manage day-to-day activities of disabled inmates of the Home.
In a press statement, spokesperson claimed of providing proper cleanliness of washrooms and rooms and also providing regular health check-up of inmates at IGMC, Shimla on regular basis, spokesperson further added.
The Spokesperson said that proper care was being taken to maintain the personal hygiene of the inmates for which sanitary napkins were being provided regularly.
Clarifying on the allegations of separating newborn girl from her, mentally retarded with disability, mother, spokesperson said the unwed women was brought to the Home from Una and delivered a girl child in the Kamla Nehru Hospital, Shimla, but since the mother was not able for breast feeding and other basic care to the baby and on the advice of Psychiatry department of IGMC, child was shifted to the Sishu Grih, U.S. club, Shimla on the orders of Child Welfare Committee, Shimla.
Spokesperson also denied allegations of not providing enough heaters to the inmates during winters.
