Hyderabad: Himachal Pradesh cricket Association, which is being scrutinize by the state government for alleged irregularities in its set up, have something to smile as its teams, Ranji Trophy and Under 25 are performing better then the expectation and one after another scaling its standard on the national level.
In the Ranji Trophy tournament, Himachal team is placed at the third spot in its group C and in Under 25 match against dangerous looking Hyderabad, two of its batsmen have slammed double hundred. Earlier yesterday, Nikhil Gangta made fantastic double hundred and helped team score to cross 400 in the first day of match and on second day Ankit Kalsi from Una slammed his maiden double hundred.
With the two double hundred, Himachal team managed to score 685/7 and declared inning thereafter.
This is a first time when a two players from Himachal have scored 200 or more runs at the national level in the same match and innings, its a great historic day for Himachal cricket.
Anurag Thakur, president HPCA termed it a historic feat and said
It’s a moment of great pride and honour for the state association that our two players have scored impressively in one match, the state association is fully committed to provide international facilities and coaching to the vast reserve of talent in Himachal and the day is not far when Himachal will become one of the powerhouses of the game in the country
All the members of the state association have congratulated team and both players, who scored fantastic double hundred. They said that the Cricket body providing best and international level facilities and infrastructure to its players and believe that more players of the association would be performing well at the national level.
