Himachal Pradesh BJP staged demonstration against recent bus fare hike at various part of the state. Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal led the protest in Hamirpur, where he criticised the Congress government and termed it anti poor.
Dhumal also criticised the decision of the state government for increasing the prices of subsidised sugar and oil supplied through PDS ration shops and reduction of grain and rice quota per person.
The BJP leaders also submitted a memorandum to the Governor through the DC, Hamirpur, urging him to prevail upon the state government to withdraw the recent hike.
At Dharamshala, BJP protest was led by former minister Kishan Kapoor and former MLA Sanjay Chaudhary. Along with hundreds of party workers they submitted a memorandum to DC Kangra.
At Mandi, BJP president, Mandi, Jawahar Thakur led the protest, where along with other party workers; party cadre staged a protest and submitted a memorandum to the Governor.
At Theog, Rakesh Verma led party workers staged protest against bus fare hike. Verma termed the hike excessive and asked government to rethink over it and advised to work for the common people. BJP workers also protested at Reckong Peo, where BJP workers also asked government to expedite the rehabilitation work in flood affected area.
