A massive landslide on the Dharamsala-McLeodganj road has destroyed many houses of Army men and four of residents at Terra Line village. No loss of life was reported as Army personnel had noticed a crack in the hill and thus evacuated the personnel living in the quarters before the mishap. The villagers said they had heard the sound of damage to Army houses last night. The villagers gathered in the school ground that saved their life.
Since all houses of the village are under threat, the Army has provided them 15 quarters. The district administration has also provided them a grant of Rs 2 lakh. Minister for Housing and Urban Development Sudhir Sharma said all affected residents of the village would be allotted land where they could build their houses.
