Shimla: To restore the road blocked after the recent snowfall, the State Government has released a sum of Rs. five crore to the Public Works Department through State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to undertaken the necessary measures to clear the roads etc.
In a review meeting regarding restoration of roads and other essential services disrupted due to recent snowfall in various parts of the State, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has directed the concerned authorities to restore the water pipe lines, electrical cables and other essential services with in two days positively.
CM said that the damage to the roads may be assessed and steps may be taken to open all the routes wherever they were blocked due to heavy snowfall and landslides etc. He said that all the concerned departments, particularly I&PH, PWD and Electricity may submit their estimates for the funds required if any and the money would not be any constraint in under taking the restoration and repair works.
