Former Director General of Police ID Bhandari dubbed present Virbhadra Singh led state government as most corrupt government in the state.

Former DGP, while talking to media, denied allegations of phone tapping of politicians and bugging of a VIPs room at Chandigarh and claimed that he was being framed in the case without any documentary evidence or verbal corroboration.
Bhandari stated that he was charge-sheeted on the basis of statements of an inspector and an SP, who nowhere talk about his role in this entire episode,” he claimed. He also denied allegations of sending policemen to spy over a senior politician during his stay in Chandigarh and allegations have been made without any documentary evidence. He accused government for throttling the voice of honest police officers.
Clarifying over the allegations of illegal phone-tapping, Bhandari claimed that no phone was tapped illegally. He stated that over the period of four years, police had seized four quintals of charas, busted hawala racket and fake currency racket and arrested Pakistani spy.
