Heath and Family Welfare Minister Kaul Singh Thakur called on Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad at New Delhi today and thanked him for providing liberal assistance to Himachal Pradesh for strengthening health sector in the State.

Kaul Singh Thakur thanked Union Minister for sanctioning three more Medical Colleges, two cancer hospitals and two mother and child hospitals.

Health Minister believed that the UPA led Union Government has always remained sympathetic towards Himachal’s genuine demands and Gulam Nabi Azad was particularly considerate towards the cause of Himachal Pradesh as he was well versed with the needs of the State.

Thakur said that after present Congress Government took over in the State, Union Health Ministry sanction three more Medical colleges in a short span of one year. He also thanked Gulam Nabi Azad for sanctioning Rs. 190 crore each for setting up these Medical Colleges at Chamba, Hamirpur and Sirmour districts.

He also thanked Gulam Nabi Azad for doubling the amount under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) on the analogy of North- Eastern States.

Kaul Singh Thakur also called on Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma at New Delhi. He extended his gratitude for reviving Industrial package to the State.

Thakur stated that extension of Industrial package would give necessary boost to the industrialization in the State and also help to generate gainful employment for the rural youth.

The Special Package of incentives had been extended from 7th January, 2013 to 31st March, 2017. He said that the Industrial Package would give a much needed fillip to the pace of Industrialization in the State.
