Transport, Food and Civil Supplies and Technical Education Minister G. S. Bali has welcomed the decision of the Union Government for raising the quota of subsidized LPG re-fills from 9 to 12 annually.
He thanked the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for considering this issue. He has also thanked the Congress Vice President for persistently following this issue with the Union Government to increase the subsidized LPG refills from nine to 12 annually.
Bali believed that this decision was going to benefit every household of the country especially in the hilly States like Himachal Pradesh where LPG also helps in saving the precious forest wealth.
Bali said that Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had taken up the matter with the Petroleum Ministry to enhance the limit of subsidized LPG cylinders to 12 especially in the hilly States like Himachal Pradesh keeping in view of tough terrain of the State.
