Sujanpur: Aiming to hold BJP stronghold, on his first tour to Hamirpur district, after holding power in state, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh doles out projects worth Rs. 22 crore for Sujanpur region alone.
Chief Minister, who had started a new political skirmish, after seizing HPCA properties all over the state, justified cancellation of lease of lands given to it. He in his address at Sujanpur Tira, Chief Minister accused previous state Govt, which was headed by Anurag Thakur’s father Prem Kumar Dhumal, for giving prime land worth crores of rupees to HPCA by flouting all rules and regulations.
Singh said that in place of hostel for the players, HPCA constructed a luxury hotel at Dharamshala. He said that a fake company was registered in the name of HPCA at Kanpur, which was thereafter made a society. He said that similarly, the HPCA was provided prime land at Lalpani Shimla, Nadaun and Bilaspur on lease amount of Rs. one only. He said that the Government has therefore decided to get back the land from HPCA so that its appropriate and proper use could be ensured. The chief minister alleged that HPCA had become Dhumal’s family affair and this would not be allowed anymore in the interests of sports in the state.
Virbhadra Singh said that Govt will hold immediate fresh elections to the body and ensured to hold them in a “free and fair” manner. He said that only bonafide Himachalis should be made the members and office bearers of the HP state cricket association. He said that once fresh elections were held, the state government would hand over the control of the stadium to the new body.
Though, Chief Minister praised former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar and said that he had maintained a certain level of decency, but accused Dhumal for crossing all the limits of decency. He also ridicule the BJP leaders claim of political witch-hunting and vendetta and stated that during both the tenures of Dhumal false cases were registered against him and in all these cases he acquitted by Hon’ble Court.
