Student Death Case: University Removes Accused Officer, Forms Inquiry Panel

Solan: Amid ongoing protests and a police investigation into the death of a former student, Shoolini University has taken administrative action, withdrawing responsibilities from the officer facing allegations and initiating an internal review.

Pro-Chancellor Vishal Anand said that the university has removed the accused officer from her responsibilities and reassigned her duties to the Vice-Chancellor. The move comes in response to the serious allegations raised by students following the suicide of MBA graduate Nitin Chauhan.

He further informed that the university has constituted a committee to coordinate with authorities and assist in identifying the circumstances that led to the suicide. The panel will work alongside the ongoing police investigation to examine all aspects related to the case.

The development follows intense protests on campus, where students have accused the administration of abeting of suicide and misleading on placement claims.

Police have already registered a case of abetment to suicide and are probing the matter from all angles, while forensic analysis of evidence is underway.
