Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal has reiterated his demand and advised the Centre government to strengthen infrastructure along the international boundary with China.
In the past few days, Chinese army had intruded into Indian Territory illegally and had also erected some permanent structure along border, which is worrying politician.
Former Chief Minister also welcomed the decision of the Centre to constitute a mountain strike corps along the Indo-China border. Dhumal said
“Considering the threat being faced by the country from China, there is an urgent need to take some steps that will show our preparedness to meet any threat from across the border,”
In the past, during his Chief Minister tenure and President Pranab Mukherjee’s recent visit to state, Dhumal had also raised demand to strengthen infrastructure along the Chinese border and Himalayan battalion to protect its territory. He asked the state government should take up the proposal with the Centre.
