Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has ruled out any possibility of creating new districts in the state. Talking to press before leaving Shimla after completing his first phase of Kangra district sojourn, Singh said that the present financial health of the state did not allow any more districts.
He also lambasted at the BJP led Govt for playing with the sentiments of people of the state on this sensitive issue. He added that even his own partymen didn’t support him on this issue. He also accused previous regime for misleading people of the Kangra.
However, Chief Minister promised to explore the possibilities of re-organising administrative units’ right from districts to sub-tehsils by constituting a commission for this purpose. The government would act after reviewing the commission’s report.
