Himachal Pradesh Transport Minister G.S. Bali announced that the Himachal Pradesh government will not raise the fare in state-run buses despite the Rs.11 rise in diesel prices for bulk users.
Minister said it in a press conference at Shimla today. Bali said that the recent hike of diesel price for bulk users has hit the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) badly. But he said that despite it Govt wouldn’t burden the common man. He said that department will overcome the additional burden by cutting down our operational losses.
As per the official records, the HRTC, with a fleet over 1,200 buses, had losses of Rs.572.79 crore up to March 31, 2011 against Rs.230.06 crore in 2010.
