Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri said the Forest department is keen to permanent solution to stop the monkey menace in various parts of the state. He said that the department had been directed to formulate a strategy to provide shelter and food to monkeys in forests of the state so that the burgeoning monkey menace could be curbed.
He said that the department outlining to retain monkeys in their original habitat within six months and apart from providing shelter, the department would also feed them with the help of people. For it forest department will also plant mixed species of fruit and green fodder in the forests so that monkeys do not leave their habitat for food and damage farmers’ crops.
