Governor Urmila Singh has emphasized the importance of education in overall development of the individual and the society. She was speaking on the occasion of Golden Jubilee celebration function of Evening College, Shimla here today.
Urmila Singh said that the role of Evening College in imparting education to those who could not afford to go to college in day time was more important. She said that Evening College Shimla was best education institution. She congratulated the management of the Evening College to run the institution. She hoped that this college would play a leading role for imparting quality education to the students in the State.
Earlier Singh released the souvenir and other publications brought out by the college. Prof. Shekhar Sharma welcomed the Governor and presented the detailed report of activities of the college. Prof. A.D.N. Bajpayee, Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla welcomed the Governor and presented the detailed report of the college.
Renowned educationists from different parts of country, teaching staff of Himachal Pradesh University, evening college and Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation Shimla were present on the occasion.
