State CPM alleged that the BJP led state government has transferred some of the college lecturers from Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya Shimla and Government College Bilaspur on political grounds and asked Chief Electoral Officer to look into the matter. Senior CPM leader Tikender Singh Panwar in his letter to Chief Electoral Officer has claimed that this has been done to ensure that the students studying in these colleges can be intimidated, threatened to vote for the ruling BJP. In these colleges the student’s organisation of the ruling party was defeated during the recent students’ union elections.
There is a strong feeling that the students studying in these colleges will not vote for the ruling BJP. The BJP government had asked the college lecturers to ensure that their students’ organisation gets elected so that a message is spread around that the policies of BJP have been vehemently accepted by the students’ community. There were some of the lecturers who did not bow down to the pressures and stood neutrally. They have been targeted and sent to far flung places without even caring for the mid-session of their children.
Panwar demanded Chief Electoral Officer to cancel the transfer and also urged election commission to stop the BJP government from carrying on such mischievous, anti democratic, partisan and despotic moves.
