The Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the Managing Director of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) to file a detailed report on the steps taken for enforcing the reservation of seats in buses for women and differently able people.
The Court has also asked the Corporation to file an affidavit on the status regarding issuance of instructions for the reservation of seats for women and the differently able in private buses as well.
A division bench of Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice D.C. Chaudhary passed these orders during the hearing of public interest litigation by Jitender Bhardwaj, alleging that the conductors of HRTC buses are not complying with the orders of the management. The court has listed the matter for hearing 10th October, 2012.
