Himachal Pradesh University student outfits ABVP and SFI’s ugly clash at DC office Shimla, become nasty as students got down to physical blows. These students were protesting in support of their separate demand near the district magistrates’ office.
Congress student wing NSUI and Himachal Youth Congress have criticised the happening and demanded thorough investigation in it. They have demanded to investigate in the matter that why permission was given to both organizations and what were the reasons police failed to curb the fight near the DC office. They have demanded strict action against those involved in it.
On the other side, CPM Shimla Local Committee has submitted a memorandum to DGP through DC Shimla. In their memorandum CPM has criticized Superintendent of Police, role in this drama as they have alleged that SP’s behaviour and reaction depicts that he is not carrying out his official and constitutional responsibilities in an efficient way. CPM alleged that he was behaving as an appendage and agent to the ruling BJP govt.
CPM alleged that from last four days ABVP had got into the act of hooliganism in Shimla City and destroyed public property. They added that photos of people involved in this incident have appeared in various newspapers, but police has not taken any action against them till now.
CPM has also criticized SP’s press statement to newspapers that CPM activists manhandled him and added that they know their boundaries, but advised that the SP remembers his official and constitutional responsibilities. CPM has demanded immediate transfer of the police officer and that proper action be initiated against him so that law and order situation prevails in Shimla city.
