A Spokesman of the State Government said that decision has been taken to officially recognize AADHAAR numbers being given to the residents as valid document for establishing Proof of Identity (POI) as well as Proof of Address (POA) for various services being offered by the State Government to the residents of Himachal Pradesh.
He said that all departments had been requested to adopt AADHAAR number as valid document for POI as well as POA and issue suitable instruction in this regard. Spokesman said that Department of Information Technology was functioning as Nodal Agency to enroll all the residents of the State for giving unique identity –AADHAAR numbers. He said that enrollment of residents for getting AADHAAR numbers was going on throughout the State.
