Many people in the State are unnecessarily taking advantage of reservations and benefits that BPL families are entitled to, now Government seems to have recognized this and thus according to a Government spokesman, the list of BPL families would be reviewed in ensuing Gram Sabha meetings scheduled to be held on 3rd April. The idea of the review is to recognize eligible families, enlist them and to delete the ineligible ones. The Spokesmen confirmed that families who have irrigated land of more than one hectare or non irrigated land more than two hectares or who have pucca accommodation or pay income tax or have vehicle of any type or earn more than Rs. 2500 per month will not be enlisted under the BPL families.
