Governor Urmila Singh inaugurated two day theatre festival at Gaiety Theatre, Shimla that is organized by Department of Language, Art and Culture. Speaking on the occasion, Governor said that various activities including art, culture and theatre has got boost after renovation of Gaiety Theatre and various private organizations had come forward for preservation and promotion of theatre activities.
She said that Gaiety had emerged a centre of excellence in promoting young artists to adopt art and culture and hoped that this would go a long way in popularizing the theatre activities of Shimla.
Mayor, Shimla Municipal Corporation Madhu Sood, Manisha Nanda, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Language, Art and Culture, Prem Sharma, Director, Language, Art and Culture and famous theatre artist Shriniwas Joshi were also present on the occasion.
