Vikramaditya Singh, the son of Union Minister Virbhadra Singh announced the formation of Himachal Sports, Culture and Environment Association at press conference. Vikramaditya said that Association is non-political organisation and will work towards the promoting rural talent and will also nurture them to perform well at national level. The first major event to be organised by the association is Raja Padam Singh memorial cricket tournament that is organises at Rohru. Singh added that some leading cricketers, including former Indian cricket captain Azharuddin have been invited to the tournament to be sponsored by Punjab King’s XI and JP University.
In the press conference he declares that Association will not only confine to cricket but also willing to promote various other sports. After Raja Padam Singh memorial cricket tournament, Himachal Sports, Culture and Environment Association will hold Shimla district T-20 tournament and matches will be held in four zones at Sunni, Rohru, Rampur and Junga. Association will also extend its services to other parts of the state gradually and covering more disciplines. Vikramaditya Singh is also a national-level shooter and promise to promote such sport as well.
