In the wake of coming tourist season in Manali, Kullu police have initiated holding awareness campaigns for general public in Kullu and Manali. Presiding over a meeting of hoteliers, travel agents, taxi union and Beopar Mandal, convened in Manali to review and discuss ways and means to maintain law and order and provide better services to the tourists in the coming season, SP Abhishek Dhullar laid stress on the need for cooperation of all in the implementing rule of law. He said that for convenience of hotel owners, website has been prepared where in hoteliers can directly submit their C Form of foreigners to the police. He added that during coming tourist season contingent of 50 police and 50 home guard personnel would be deployed. Dhullar urges hoteliers to install CCTVs in their hotels to verify the suspicious identity of the visitors. President Gajender Thakur told that their association would publish a pamphlet of DOs and DONTs for guidance of tourists and distributed in the barriers. On the request of hoteliers SP Dhullar has agreed upon to challans of those vehicles who are engaged in visible traffic violations. SP, on complaint of hoteliers also directed Manali police incharge to check the documents of all three wheelers who don’t display fare list, overcharge or wrongly park their rickshaws here and there.
