Chief Minister assured the delegation of Giu village of Lahaul and Spiti District for the proper rehabilitation. Village is suffering from the frequent floods and in the last year’s itself, deadly rain washed the major portion of village. Delegation was led by the Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, and accompanied by Lobzang Bodh, President, District Lahaul and Spiti BJP, Chhering Bodh, General Secretary, Ashok Kumar, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Giu and other members of the Giu village. They suggested the Scheleche near Hurling on the Pooh-Kaza highway to secure the life and property of the residents of the village.
Chief Minister discusses the every aspect of the matter and said that the State Government is concerned about the safety and proper rehabilitation of the residents of Giu village and had directed the local authorities to identify suitable land to relocate the villagers at a safe place where all basic amenities could be made available to them. He said that the damage caused to the village had been assessed by the local revenue authorities and suitable action taken in the matter by providing them emergency help. He said that since the village was on the international border of the country and all its residents would be rehabilitated suitably at a safer place.
