Indian media’s going berserk over the Karmapa Lama’s case and labeling him as a Chinese spy may go on to suggest the loops in Indian media and its functioning if it were to be proven otherwise. Suggesting that the media and the other elements of the society to take it easy with the allegations on the Karmapa until they are proven by the investigating agencies, Cabinet minister Virbhadra Singh said:
Who says Karmapa is a Chinese spy? Have the state agencies and police done a thorough probe into this issue, or, have the agencies reached at conclusions? If not, no such impressions should be created through statements in the media. The investigation should have been carried out keeping the case in low profile.
